Quote wall: Fred Rogers
On the bulletin board above my desk, I keep a handful of quotes that have taught me something, or that I hope to learn from.
Here's one:
When we love a person, we accept him or her exactly as is: the lovely with the unlovely, the strong with the fearful, the true mixed in with the façade, and of course, the only way we can do it is by accepting ourselves that way.
—Fred Rogers
I don't have much to add to this other than: All of us who grew up with Mr. Rogers on television were luckier than we knew. I wish there was someone like him around today, gently teaching adults how to be good adults, children how to be good children, all humans how to be the best we can be.
