A shed in which to write, and live

Late last year, my wife and I were talking about writers and their sheds. Writers have a long history of writing in sheds, or little gazebos or cabins—give them a small room and tuck it in the backyard, or in the woods, and they're usually pretty content. (Here are some examples.)

While we talked, Squish grabbed a sheet of paper and a pencil, and began drawing. A few minutes later, she handed me a blueprint labeled Daddy's writing shed. It included such niceties as:

  • A table
  • A window
  • A bed
  • A food box

"So you're evicting me," I said.

"But you get a food box," she said.
